How long will training take and what should I expect?
Our training programs take 30-90 days to complete with ongoing support well after your private sessions are completed. Our Trainer on Retainer and Relief Right Now programs offer refresher sessions that can be used as you choose.
What tools and methods do you use?
We are one of the largest dog training companies in NC that can train your dog without the use of prong collars, e-collars, or other popular aversive tools. We use positive-reinforcement based techniques paired with proper environmental management to tackle all obedience and behavioral needs.
Can you help with specific behavior issues?

Meet the Owner
Shane Gentry – Owner and Founder
Shane Gentry is the owner and founder of Sally Said So Professional Dog Training. He started in Raleigh North Carolina and has expanded to help dogs and families across North Carolina. Shane has been an animal lover and dog enthusiast for as long as he can remember. He is a strong community member and a father with a lifetime of animal training experience, both as a volunteer and professional. Following a career in the construction industry, he realized his dream of becoming an expert in dog behavior and thus, Sally Said So was born.
Shane has completed several intensive certification courses, most notably through Animal Behavior College, the largest trainer’s school in the United States, and Canine Trade Group, an exclusive program for private in-home behavioral training. Not only has he trained dogs, but he has even trained a goat and prairie dog! His personal dogs have quite the resume, starring in Twisted Tea commercials and a spot on NBC’s Young Rock TV sitcom.

Comprehensive Consultation
Our training approach begins with a two-hour meeting with an expert and marks the start of one-on-one training. During this we will discuss your dog’s training goals, evaluate their behavior and environment, and demonstrate some basic obedience skills. This may include basic commands like sit, “place,” and leash walking.
Private Training Sessions
Whether you’re looking for puppy training, obedience training, or behavior modification for aggression and anxiety, we offer private lessons to accommodate all breeds, sizes, and temperaments.
