Cat Trainers Near Me

Cat Tree-O Program

This is our premier cat training program. Designed to ensure you are fully supported through your cat’s behavioral journey.

Initial Consultation

Our Cat Tree-O program begins with a two-hour meeting with an expert and marks the start of one-on-one training. During this we will discuss your cat’s training goals, evaluate their behavior and environment, and explore our training style. By the end we want you to have a clear picture of your training journey.

Follow Up Training Sessions

You have two follow-up training sessions to use with your program. The first is scheduled shortly after your consultation. The second is available to use any time within a year of your consultation. These sessions are private and held in the convenience of your own home.

What Sets Sally Said So Apart?

We’ve been successfully helping cats, dogs, and their owners resolve miscommunication and behavioral issues since 2009. We believe there are no bad cats, just poor communication.

Sally Said So’s mission is to help more cats and dogs by educating owners, supporting animal rescue, and empowering veterinary professionals across our state.

We know cats and dogs are different creatures, but we know that communication lies at the heart of any training program. Our cat behaviorists have worked tirelessly to learn everything they can about their behavior, psychology, and history.

Cat Trainers Near Me | We can help you with:

  • Aggression
  • Marking + inappropriate elimination
  • Scratching + destructive behavior
  • Excessive meowing + grooming
  • Help introducing a new pet or child
  • Kitten training

If your cat has an out-of-the-(litter)box problem, we can help with that, too. You will find cat trainers certified through Animal Behavior College on our team. They can handle anything your cat throws at them.

We know cats

A certified cat trainer from Sally Said So can solve your cat’s behavior problems. Cats are independent creatures; they aren’t pack animals like dogs, and they have different instincts. The trouble isn’t that cats are difficult to train—it’s that our instincts align more with dogs than cats. It’s seemingly easier to understand a dog’s motivation. We can decode your cat’s behavior and set you up with a real training plan that will help you and your cat live harmoniously.

Common Behavioral Issues

Scratching Furniture

One of the most common complaints among cat owners is furniture scratching. While it can be frustrating, it’s essential to recognize that scratching is a natural behavior for cats. Our trusted cat trainers will help you meet their need to mark territory, help teach you how to maintain their claws, and protect your precious furniture!

Inappropriate Elimination

When a cat urinates or defecates outside the litter box, it is distressing for both the cat and their owner. Our experts will first consider any underlying reasons for this behavior, including medical reasons, stress, or dissatisfaction with litter box setup. Then, offer real solutions to prevent and redirect the inappropriate elimination.

Aggression

Aggression in cats can be a sign of fear, feeling threatened, anxiety, or discomfort. We will look for what is triggering this behavior, determine the root cause of the aggression, and then modify the environment and their behavior to eliminate the need for aggressive displays. If you have two cats or more fighting, we can help!

Excessive Meowing

Cats communicate with us through vocalizations, including meowing. Excessive meowing could indicate underlying stress, loneliness, or more. Our trainers will work to determine the cause of these excessive vocalizations and work to address it.

Destructive Behavior

Cats may engage in destructive behaviors out of curiosity, boredom or lack of enrichment. We can help you eliminate your cat’s need to be destructive and teach your cat where to direct their curiosity.

Hiding or Avoidance

No one wants a cat that feels that they must hide at every small change in their environment. If you feel that your cat isn’t secure in their environment, let our cat trainers help you build your cat’s confidence and security in-home.

Excessive Grooming

Excessive grooming can be a coping mechanism for stress or anxiety. We can help determine what stressors are causing anxiety and then work to remedy them.
